Construction gathers pace at two DAMAC Properties projects in Qatar

Reaffirms companies development plans in Qatar
DAMAC Properties has almost completed enabling works at its Piazza development in Fox Hills, Lusail while initial site works have also commenced at a second project in Qatar - Business Square.

The Piazza and Business Square are among the 11,313 units that DAMAC Properties currently has under construction across the GCC.

Enabling works are nearing completion by Construction Technology at Piazza 1 and 2 and Piazza 3 will begin this summer. Site investigations, geology reports and topographic studies have already been completed at Piazza 3.

The Piazza will be a modern complex with Mediterranean style architecture and occupies a prime position in the new Foxhills District development In Lusail City. Units are available from studio units up to three bedrooms and the development will feature a range of amenities and services which will all be included within the perimeter including outdoor swimming pool, jogging track and gymnasium. Within the city masterplan, the Lusail light rail transit system will have adjacent stations and nearby there will be retail shops, cafes and health clubs for residents to enjoy plus facilities such as libraries, government offices and medical services.

DAMAC Properties has worked closely with master developer, Qatari Diar throughout all of the initial construction works and is now progressing with the final stages of the detailed design to assess tenders for the main contract, which is expected to commence later this year.

Ziad El Chaar, General Manager of DAMAC Properties, said: ‘There are many stages to be completed before main works begin but we are making good progress with these. We hope to announce the main contract award for the Piazza development in the Summer.’

Meanwhile at the Business Square commercial development in the Marina area of Lusail City, DAMAC Properties accepted early delivery of the plot and appointed Advanced Construction Technology Services to undertake the site Investigation surveys and reports which are now completed. In addition, Construction Technology have completed the initial site works, fencing, signage and securing of the site. The enabling contract for Business Square is expected to commence this summer.

Business Square will provide an office environment within the desirable Marina area of Lusail with retail units on the ground floor. It will offer companies all the latest facilities such as health club and gym on site, swipe card access, high speed internet and business lounges. The building features modern angular architecture and will be at the heart of the Marina’s commercial area.

This year the company will deliver more than 3,000 units in Dubai with the completion and handover of six buildings.
